Before Tarabish Began

At about the age of 7 I was given the opportunity to walk/play with a neighbor's dogs (a border collie and two mix breeds) and my love of dogs began. By about the age of 10 I had begun to compete in the local flyball team with the larger of the mix breeds, and I became hooked on performance with dogs. At about the same age I had the opportunity to watch obedience training, both beginner and the higher levels, and instantly became attracted to the many facets of the dog world.  I was also lucky enough to be involved in a few local shows, including helping with organisation of the first  heelwork to music competition locally.

The birth of Tarabish dogs

Chico came into my life when I was about 12 and he 18m, and although I had high hopes for him to become my first performance dog, he had other ideas. He taught me how to be a better trainer and how to never give up as he presented many more challenges then I ever thought a 5lb dog could! Although Chico never reached competition level, he has successfully learnt a fair number of tricks, which he likes to entertain people with for cheese when the mood strikes him!

When Gunner joined my family in late 2007, he became my first obedience dog, and introduced me to the conformation world. I am utterly hooked and utterly in love with my boys and the challenges we face and successes we make. I applied for an affix in early 2008 and Tarabish was born.

Currently I am enjoying some success both in the show ring, and in agility. Gunner is proving to be a natural crowd pleaser.
